Our Mission

Act for Water is a non-profit organisation with the ambitious aim of saving water in India, and eventually, the world. We aim to do this by creating awareness about the consequences of an almost inevitable water crisis and how we can prevent it from occurring in the near future. Our initiatives are mostly activities that people practice in their daily lives without altering their lifestyles and saving hundreds of litres of water every day.

India has a population of 1.3 billion, out of which, more than 50% don’t have access to clean and safe drinking water. Over 200,000 deaths occur every year due to lack of access to safe water. This number is nearly the same as the number of COVID deaths in 2020! India has 4% of the world’s freshwater but 16% of the world’s population and therefore, it’s facing a crisis. India is not only a deadly COVID crisis but also an acute water crisis.

Save Water

Our team is dedicated to saving water. We work hard to raise awareness about water scarcity and how we can save water in our daily lives.

The Indian Water Crisis is wreaking havoc around the country.

There are millions of people in India who are currently facing an acute water crisis. They don’t have any access to clean drinking water and are very likely to contract fatal water-related diseases like cholera, typhoid, meningitis, and hepatitis A, to name a few. Water is a right, and we must act for it now.
